Can't delete asterisks

I'm using Musescore 2. I have accidentally placed asterisks in my score, but they are in a measure, not above or below it. When I try to click on the asterisks to delete them, I can only click on the measure that they appear on instead. How do I delete these asterisks?

The trick is to add a new asterisk (as regular text) in a measure let's say measure 1289 -> right-click the added asterisk -> Select-> all similar elements, and then, either:
1) do Ctrl + R (to reset the original position of these asterisks), without forget to delete the one added
2) if you don't want any of them, just press "Del"
