How to Add a Measure or Pickup Without Changing Spacing per System

Hello all,

I've just learned how to space minimum measure width which has been great, but what do I do if I want the first system to include an extra measure (for a pickup)? If I simply "insert" a measure, it offsets everything and I'm left with one very wide measure at the bottom system.
