Little "x's" have subbed in for some of my notes in the score.

Early in the piece, they were only subbing in for E-0, but then later they took over the A below that E, A-1. How do I get rid of them? (I can hunt and kill and replace, but is there a faster way to do it?) I have included a sample of the piece.
