Latest Update Issues Musescore 4

Downloaded and installed latest version on Mac [High Sierra], software will not now open. Despite following download and install instructions when trying to open the program states "program unexpectedly quit last time" and then goes to blank screen regardless of which option I select to open or not. Will not permit reload of previous versions.
