Steps to reproduce:
Enter a few notes and give them a crescendo line (cresc.______)
Export the score to a .musicxml-file
Open the .musicxml-file with an ascii-editor.
You will find:

Expected: wedge type="crescendo".

(Remark: a words / dashes combination would be even better to have a distinction between crescendo wedge and crescendo line, but this is only a suggestion )

Editor cleared my description of the content of the musicxml-file. Used ascii less-than and greater-than signs.
however, you'll find the words 'wedge type="decrescendo" in the musicxml-file.

The change to a line instead of a wedge would be a good thing and this is clearly addressed in the linked report. But exporting diminuendo instead of crescendo is just the wrong way round and I think of it as an mistake which could be corrected easily.
