Time signatures
I have the most up to date version of Musescore but I still can't see how to change a time signature without compressing all the bars.

@Cliff Turner, Can you attach here the score you are having problems with? Isn't Marc's answer (https://musescore.org/en/node/228676#comment-742751 ) exhaustive?

See my other responses. Your score must have started out with line breaks, these get removed along with the original barlines when you change time signatures. No problem, those line breaks were not needed to begin with. The music will automatically space itself as you add notes anyhow.
