When a pickup measure is excluded from the measure count, this isn't reflected in the "Range Selection Start Measure" at the bottom left of the program window.

The status bar shows physical measures rather than the measure numbers diplayed in the score. Otherwise functions like find measure wouldn't work.

Okay, I understand that. It just makes it difficult to find measures when you have a large, empty score. For example, I was putting all of my time signature changes in before notating. Instead of counting from the beginning of the system, I was hoping to base it off of the status bar, which ended up throwing me off. Then I discovered the discrepancy. Would it be possible to indicate measure number in the status bar as well? If not, no big deal. I'll work around it.

Thanks.

It would get confusing to show both measures numbers in the status bar in my opinion. You could use the Style dialog and turn on measure numbers to make the setup easier for you. You can set the interval to 1 if you want every measure number shown. You can then turn it off once the setup is complete.

From what you're describing, you're looking for an easier way to keep track of how many measures since the last item you entered, and this method would allow for it.
