Pizzicato notes should play as pizz. during note entry

Before I raise this as a Suggestion in the Issue Tracker, it would be interesting to hear what other MS users think about this idea.

As I understand it, the present situation is that a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass/contrabass) will play the note as "bowed" during note entry, regardless of whether the passage is arco or pizz.. But bizarrely, if a chord is entered in a pizz. passage then the upper notes sound as pizz. during note entry although the lowest note is played as arco.

My suggestion is that the Note Entry process should respect directions such as pizz. and arco. This means that pizzicato notes would sound as such during note entry. And this would help to avoid the common mistake of forgetting to return to arco after a passage of pizzicato. During transcription I have also seen printed scores which wrongly miss out such arco directions. Audible feedback would help.

This is definitely an issue for me, currently involved in transcribing Bruckner's 5th Symphony. With frequent, often unpredictable, arco/pizz. changes , being able to hear the correct sound at note entry would be very helpful. I am sure I used to be able to enter pizz. sounding notes, but I certainly cannot find a way to do so now.
