Intuitive Music Notation and Text Program
Does anyone know of a simple, intuitive program to write notes and text? Musescore is over my pay grade? I just want to write some bass vocal lines with the lyrics to the song below. I don't really need all the features of Musescore.

Musescore (the program) is free. Saving audio has a paid component but that's at .com, not .org.

Saving audio does not have a paid component…
Just use File → Export… and select one of the audio formats (such as wav/mp3) in the file type dropdown.
Simply speaking, don't use the features you don't need?
Only look at basic note entry and lyrics parts of the tutorials and you should be good to go.

Is there a dictionary or reference guide to help me with tasks I can not perform? I listened to the tutorials, and I can not even do some of the things covered in the tutorials. Also, is there a more intuitive program that I could use? Thank you.

More intuitive than MuseScore? C'mon...
There's a handbook: https://musescore.org/en/handbook

MuseScore is, mainly, a "What You See Is What You Get" software.
You can write the music, write the lyrics, hear it and, the most important thing, you can print the score in a very professional way. And all of this is absolutely free of charge!!!
If you can learn how to use the software, I think the best way is to read, from the beginning, the HandBook (in this webpage, in the "Support" option).
Any other question... Here is the forum!!!

There is a musical learning curve and a software learning curve.
Did you read the manual? https://musescore.org/en/handbook

Which tutorials? You say you "can not even do" some of the things - which things? What goes when you try? At which step of the instructions in the tutorials do things not work as you expect?
As for "more intuitive", that's in the eye of the beholder - everything thinks different. But FWIW, MuseScore definitely has a reputation for being one of the simplest programs of its kind out there.
