what happened to the style settings

• Apr 14, 2019 - 20:31

before the recent update I used to go to Style > General... > Articulations, Ornaments, and could set all articulations above or below staff. now that option appears to be gone, or has moved.

I realize I can go thru and change each one individually.

What I'm really after is for all my accents to go above chord by default. I don't mind changing them all in mass. but not 1 by 1. and now the accents are stacked on top of each other, created an even extra step of un-clicking automatic placement.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The above and below defaults that can be changed by the user is gone in version 3. I'll leave it to someone else to come up with a good reason because I don't have one.

First, you can change them all en masse - just right-click one, Select / All Similar Elements (or Select / More / Same subtype), then anything you do in the Inspector (including disabling autoplace) will apply to all at once.

Second, the stacking is due to the measure spacing being too tight right now for them not to overlap. Add a little stretch to the measure (or loosen up the spacing by default in Format / Style / Measure) and it should be fine.

Finally, to get an accent that defaults to above, add an accent normally, set it to above explicitly using the Inspector, and then add it to a custom palette as described in the Handbook under "Custom palette".
