Note anchored line not working

In version 3.1-beta, the note anchored line is not working. I saw a discussion of these a few days ago, but I don't think the discussion included them not working. I tested them in 2.3.2 and they worked fine.

I have 3.1-beta and 3.0.5 both on my computer. I saved my attempt at adding lines in 3.1, opened 3.0.5 and all 75 or so (there were actually about 10) of them were there. I then saved the clean version with only the lines I wanted and they were seen in 3.1-beta when I reopened it. It seems they are not shown until you save and reopen.
