Installation
I have successfully installed MuseScore on Windows 8.1, but this is my work computer, so I have tried to install the 32 bit version on an available computer running Windows 7. It installs but when I start it I get the message I have attached as a screenshot. Help!

Could be #285174: MuseScore Crashes Immediately on Startup on Windows or #287283: Version 3 will not open startcenter because OpenGL not supported.
Try out the suggestion from https://musescore.org/en/node/285174#comment-906048, that opengl32sw.dll
As a workaround start it my double clicking a score or by using the -w command line option, then disable the start center

The workaround is a great solution for me as I can skip the new score wizard or run it later. But now I have another error ... also Windows 7 Professional and 32 bit Musescore ....

That is some Microsoft runtime lib stuff missing, google that name and you'd find https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c…
This issue too came up here quite a few times already

Thanks - I had done that, but must have mistyped or something. I got the patch but it wanted a service pack so it's been a lengthy process but now it works. Thank you again

Yes, I guess for Windows 7 the service pack SP1 is mandatory in any case, unrelated to MuseScore. Not beiong up-to-date there really puts your computer at a high risk, when connectiong to the internet
