I'm using the latest version, and I don't see that feature :
"Edit > Paste Half Duration and Edit > Paste Double Duration"

Good question, first time I see it.
It apparently extends any range selection to select the entire section (delimited by section breaks) that range belongs to. Derived that from the name and the actual behavoir, but then verified the code also ;-)

I managed to not notice "Select Section" until recently, either, but it's actually been present for quite some time. It's in 2.3.2, for sure, but the code has been there on github since day one of when it moved there seven years ago.

It is in 2.0 already, strange I never noticed it in all these years
It is not in MuseScore 1 though, which makes sense, as that didn't have section breaks.

You need a prerelease ms 3.1, they are plentiful. "Paste Half Duration" and "Paste Double Duration" are on the Edit menu. Select/copy some notes, even on multiple staves, and paste.

Mr. Fox pointed you to the beta that has been out about a week. This is very stable and I and others recommend it as being stable enough to use if there are features you are interested in. I've found it at least as stable as version 3.0.5 and actually better.
