Converting MS2 files to MS3
So, I have just found out that MS3 and 2 are quite separate. I prefer MS2, but if I want to convert them to MS3 accurately, how do I do that? Apparently its variable and there is no going back.

You just open a MuseScore 2 file in MuseScore 3.
As soon as you save if, the resulting file won't open in MuseScore 2, but the score that it stems from still exist at the same place (unless you explicit overwrite it, overriding a corresponding warning)

Thanks for that. Best to do everything in MS2 then, so I can have them in both versions, cos MS3 to MS2 doesn't seem to be possible. Cheers.

If you want to take advantage of the new features of 3.1, then open the score in 3.1, otherwise keep the score in version 2. I think most people will find 3.1 quite acceptable and will start using for their future projects. I will import version 2 scores better, but still not perfect.
