Create a score with the wizard
Set all the text like title, composer, texter etc.
Export the score with File -> Export as
Select PDF and save.
Inspect the meta tags of the generated PDF
Here is an example of meta tags:
InfoKey: CreationDate
InfoValue: D:20190605201955+02'00'
InfoKey: Title
InfoValue: Test for Lyrics
InfoKey: Creator
InfoValue: MuseScore Version: 3.1.0
InfoKey: Producer
InfoValue: Qt 5.9.3
NumberOfPages: 1
PageMediaBegin
PageMediaNumber: 1
PageMediaRotation: 0
PageMediaRect: 0 0 595 842
PageMediaDimensions: 595 842

I miss the Author tag very much because this would be displayed on the iPad's Library among with the filename. For me the Author should be mapped to the Composer in MuseScore. But if someone wants the texter, maybe it should be configurable within settings.

Comments

More precisely to the value of the 'composer' meta tag from File > Score properties, although it is questionable whether "Author" isn't really the user having created the score and PDF?

Yes, please provide the ability to populate the PDF "Author" Property.
In MuseScore Project Properties, the first property is Arranger, which is typically the publisher of the score.
So Arranger could be mapped to the PDF Author. Or a setting could be used to select among the project standard or custom properties.
