Can't start a new page

• Jun 9, 2019 - 15:43

Hi.
I'm at my wits end. Got to the end of a page- trying to start a new one. Page break? Does nothing. Add new Measures? Just keeps adding more and more to the end of the first page.
Just like a word processor? Sure, if a word processor forced you to stay in the same line and squeezed the letters more and more as you kept writing.

Page break is the way to start a new page, you just have to have measures to display on the page for it to do anything. You must always have measures to add any music to MuseScore. The only way it ever automatically adds measures to a score is if you paste more measures than exists following the insertion point.

ctrl+b adds (appends) a measure to the end of the score shift+alt+b allows you to add as many as you want.

In that analogy, the letters are the notes, not the "nothing" of a rest, or thus whitespace in a text editor if you so wish..
But as with all analogies, they break at some point just because being "like" something else in some matter of perspective doesn't make you "identical"..
