Latest update (June 28) is very problematic, at least for me

• Jun 28, 2019 - 20:24

MuseScore: (Rev 59a887d)
OS: macOS Mojave (10.14.5)
Device: 2019 MacBook Pro 15" (8-core i9, 16GB RAM)

I installed the latest update, and a lot of things are not making sense. For one, when I'm running MuseScore, the CPU temp is pretty stable at 115-120F. Even when I'm playing a score back, it stays in that range. However, since this last update, when I play back a score, the CPU temp jumps to 160F. Not only that, the occasional popping and crackling that I get from having a score with twenty parts has been amplified... a LOT. It's cancerous to listen to. I tried closing in and out a few times and playing different scores to see if that was the issue, but there wasn't any change. Hopefully I'm not the only one experiencing this. MuseScore shouldn't be more taxing that playing War Thunder!

If anyone knows how to revert back to a previous version of MuseScore 3, please let me know! I went to the software downloads page, but the "newest" earlier version I could find was MuseScore 2.3.2.

FWIW, there were only a small handful of changes between 3.2 and 3.2.1, none of them relating to playback in any way that could possibly explain this. I have a feeling it will turn out that whatever was going on was unrelated, just a coincidence that it happened around the same time as the update.

I have exactly the same issue on Macbook Pro mid 2015, now Musescore is unusable for me, I habe to try an older version too.
Update: Installing version 3.0.5 solved the issue with terrible audio artifacts (pops and clicks)
