Corrupt Score?

• Jul 20, 2019 - 21:39

I'm working on a Windows 10 Laptop with latest update of MuseScore 3. I was trying to work on a score when the program began crashing. It crashed while I was adding instruments, playing the score, saving the score, etc. And after awhile of just having the file open it crashes. It goes to a black screen and a little pop up asks to send a crash report with the option to add a description of what I was doing. It doesn't crash when I try to add notes, but that's all it will let me do. It's definitely an issue with the score because none of the of the other scores I tried have this problem.

I'm guessing it's a corrupt measure or something, but I'm not sure how to find the corrupt measure. I know how to fix it but not find it. In addition to your help, could someone please explain how to find the corrupt measure so that I can fix it myself next time? Thank you so much!!

Your file does indeed crash on the first page when played back. I can't work out what the problem was, but I attach a version produced as follows:
1. Open your score
2. Export the score as MusicXML
3. Import the MusicXML file back into MuseScore 3
4. Expected result: some kind of error report
5. Actual result: imported fine, without any error message

Anyway, the resulting import seems to play back correctly (at least for the first two pages).
HTH

It actually crashes also on save and as such on autosafe (i.e. by default after 2 minutes) too.
I guess one of the parts is corrupt, delete all and regenerate.
It has very many hidden instruments...

Actually it is the 1st part already, Oboe 1. Delete that and recreate it
