Workspace file

• Aug 3, 2019 - 21:06

I have a custom workspace file, which I've copied to another computer so I have the same working envronment on both. This seems to work. However, every time I close MuseScore (it's v3.2.3.7635) I get a dialog box:

Writing Workspace File
C:/Program Files/MuseScore 3/workspaces/Tim.workspace failed:

After I close the dialog box, the program shuts down successfully. So, whilst it's not causing me a problem, it is somewhat untidy! Is there an obvious fix?

Thanks, Tim

Is the file open in another program - Windows Explorer, perhaps? That would prevent the write. Or maybe somehow the permissions are off. Normally MuseScore saves the workspace on exit, so if you've made changes to the palettes etc they would be there on restart. This message suggests that won't happen - any changes you make to the workspace will be lost. But aside from that it should be harmless.

Changing workspaces while MuseScore is open will cause the workspace to save, see if that fixes it. The other alternative is that the folder does not have write access for MuseScore.

Right-click on the file and select Properties from the menu.
Click General Tab.
If there is a message, like: "This File came from Another Computer and might be Blocked"
Click "Unblock".

Thanks everyone for your prompt assistance. The problem was the file permissions, as pointed out! Now fixed. Thanks again!
