1) create a score with violin1, violin 2, viola, etc (normal string parts).
2) Add pitches to all the lines.
3) play back. You will hear that the violin line is MUCH quieter than the other lines, almost inaudible.
This is consistent across a bunch of files.

You have the "slow violin expr" selected in the Mixer, that has a slow attack to be more legato but that does mean in faster passages it won't have time to come to full volume. Just change to regular violin expr.
