letters with accents in Welsh

I sometimes type in lyrics in Welsh , and am having trouble with two letters which are not on the special character page: y with circumflex; and w with circumflex. There are ASCII ALT codes for these, but Musescore does not recognise them. When I use the code for y-circumflex, I get a "w". Any suggestions?
