Lining up swung eights and triplets

• Nov 30, 2019 - 10:27

See the attached image. I've notated 2 verses in 2 different staffs because of the changes in the melody.
The song is in swing.
In bar 4 and 5 the first verse uses swung eights, where the second has triplets.
In my view the second note of a duo of swung eights should line up with the last of the triplet, since they occupy the same place in the rhythm. But there are lined up as if the eights were not swung.
Is there a way to do this?

I see triplets in the first verse (along with the 'Swing' instruction in bar 1).
There are no visible triplets in the second verse.

You're right i messed up, it's the other way around, the first verse has triplets.
I think the notes at the end of bar 4 and 5 should line up.
Btw, the swing instruction works for both verses (at least in playback).
So the last notes of both bar 4 and 5 are played at the same time (as they should be), but are not lined up .

You can move the note you want moved in the inspector.

Select the note
In the Chord section of the inspector adjust the x offset so the notes look lined up

This is slightly non-standard notation but I do understand why you want in it in measure 4 for example.
