Sound Intensity Drops Randomly

I'm using v3.2.3.7635 (haven't gotten around to updating yet).
As the title says, the sound intensity drops (seemingly at random) during playback--in different spots, too.
I have no idea what could be causing this except for the mixing (etc.), which I haven't changed from default settings.

Could anyone else offer some insight?
