MuseScore3 3.3.4 'import pdf' launches Thunderbird on Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon

Thunderbird Email client has nothing to do with reading pdf files so far as I know. Moreover, on the import page of preferences there is no mention of pdf. Certainly the operating system is set to use a dedicated pdf program.
Does any one have a clue about this odd behaviour?
