Using Metadata in footers

• Jan 8, 2020 - 16:09

I would like to have a footer on lead sheets in this form $workTitle $M Page $P of $n. This seems to be working fine to pull in the modification data, the page number and total number of pages. However even though the Score Properties show a text value for the "workTitle" tag (which happens to be "Desafinado"), what actually shows up in the footer is the text "workTitle" (or "$workTitle" - I've tried it both with and without a leading $ char).

Can anybody offer a hint as to what I'm doing wrong and what I ought to be doing to get the content of the metadata tag to print in the footer.

Thanks

The meta data tag has to be surrounded by colons as $:workTitle:

This is shown in the popup in the header dialogue. However, I find it is difficult to read. It disappears too quickly. A dropdown selection would make life much easier.

Your comment was just what I needed to actuall SEE the surrounding colons in the manual and the dropdown. Thanks a bunch!
Now that I have the contents of the footer set the way I want, I have to figure out which of the many spacing parameters I have to adjust so that there will be a LITTLE bit of white space between the bottom staff on the page and the top of the footer. Right now they're jammed together (as shown in the attached image).

Thanks again for your help.
