Switching between pitched and unpitched percussion in the same staff

This is mainly to keep scores more clean and compact.
With Separate parts available to download, I would like to have each part as condensed as possible. Instead of using multiple staffs to show what instruments are played per part, I would prefer it if I could just have the ability to make an instrument change in a single staff. for example, Switching from Bass drum, to Vibraphone, but keeping it in one staff altogether.
It's a simple feature, but will definitely be appreciated. I can't tell you how many times I quit writing a percussion quartet because I couldn't find a way to make the score look nicer and more professional.
