It's not really clear what you are asking. It's best if you can attach your score - or just a relevant excerpt of it, and explaining which two notes you are talking about and what you want to change about them.
I found you can do a lot with "edit element" Highlight just the item you want to change then right click with mouse and select edit element then use the arrow keys to change it appearance, width, etc. So try highlighting just the note and use the right or left arrow and see what happens.
