measures
Hello,
I know how to hide time signature and bar lines. BUT I would like to know if in one portion of a composition these properties can be hidden while later on the same composition these properties are visible?

Right click a measure, measure properties->uncheck visible?
To some extent yes, add a Staff Type Change element (icon "S") from the Text palette, and set its properties. Not all properties can be controlled that way though, so sometimes you need instead to simply make things invisible ("V").
