Adding staff for vocal line
I'm new to the software. Can anyone tell me how you add a treble clef line for lyrics to a piece of piano music?

Press I and add instruments to your heart's content.
Or start with the template Choral > Voice + Piano

Jojo, thanks. That worked. Is there a way to have an instrument (like vocals) not come in until a certain measure? That is, I don’t want the extra staff line when an instrument is not playing for significant portions of the piece. Thanks

Hide empty staves (Format/Style/Score).

Warning: don't do that until you've actually added the notes, or the staff will disappear since it's empty to start with :-)
