Playback bar not working
I use a 2015 Macbook Pro, with 10.14 Mojave software. Just today, the playback function just stopped working and is totally greyed out. I can't use keyboard shortcuts to get around the issue. I have tried to reset the I/O preferences, reset to factory settings, and wiped my PRAM, and nothing is working. For the I/O drop down menu, the window won't let me select my headphones or my computer's speakers as output. Can anyone try and fix this issue? Thanks

Using bluetooth headphones: In some cases it might also work to toggle (press twice) the MIDI input button on the main toolbar or just restart MuseScore

I have tried both of these options and nothing.
There is no timebomb programmed into the audio of MuseScore. So what changed in your setup that playback now suddenly is no longer working:
New speakers? Headphones? Other audio software open that might lock the devices?

I recently downloaded Audacity, but when I quit the app my audio still did not work

I uninstalled Audacity to see if it would work, and my sound is now completely fine. Not too sure why Audacity killed my Musescore playback function. Thanks for your suggestions.

Best guess is Audacity added some different DLL or device driver or some such system-level file that was confusing the playback engine in MuseScore somehow. In general, though, Audacity coexists with MuseScore just fine. I have both installed on my Windows and Linux systems with no issues.

This worked for a little while, but now it has greyed out again. All of the playback controls are on, and the Synthesizer option is disabled in my computer. My Mac won't let me download new Soundfonts too for some reason.
