Note input not working on Windows 10
I am making a score and I haven't been able to use note input.This may be a possible side effect of the fact that I made it portable, but I don't know. The keyboard won't work, except for making rests longer.

N to enter note input, then A-G to enter notes doesn't work?

Have you perhaps got MuseScore into Re-Pitch mode for note entry? This can give the impression that "nothing is working". Check which Note Entry icon is displayed:
