Won't let two instruments play simultanously
I'm trying to compose a piece that has the flute, violin, and both clefs of the piano playing at the same time, but every time I place notes, it puts a rest in the other instrument's measures. How can I fix this?

My best guess is that you have turned on "Insert mode" instead of using the regular note input mode (also called "Step-Time"). Use the dropdown menu next to the note input button on the toolbar to put it back where it belongs. Insert mode is not meant for ordinary music entry, only for the special cases you were actually want to insert additional beats into a measure.
