guitar polyphony with fingering and ornaments

I'm having a lot of trouble getting all the information I want in this score while using polyphony, which seems to result in a chaos of rests and makes tuplets, ornaments, and fingerings very difficult to format. Is there a more elegant solution than what I've been doing? I realize polyphonically it would make more sense to have the main voice be voice 2 but for example in m. 5-7 I did that and now there's no way to assign the trill to the correct notes---for some reason voice 1 seems to be the only fully functional voice. Do my complaints make sense? Do I have to suffer so much back-end woe to get decent-looking printed music?
