Ideal Reverb Settings

• May 4, 2020 - 21:26

Hello, I am currently in the works of writing orchestral music (Brass+Percussion+String). I have downloaded many different soundfonts to achieve a more realistic sound for each instrument. The results so far are satisfactory, but I would like to take this a step further by adding reverb. I am ofcourse referring to the Zita1 module that can be found at the Synthesizer section of MS. I am not very well-versed in this part of MS, so I do hope anyone who is knowledgeable in this can help me. Be it tips or sharing the ideal settings that you use, I would appreciate the help!

The default settings were thought about a bit when set. There is documentation and help in the handbook under synthesizer. It is difficult to tell given the variety of samples with their processing and room delay. Remember, it is reverb on the whole mix too. I tend to go as dry as possible, sacrificing "width" for the very nature of the processed samples. Lately, given how good soundfonts are in comparison to some freeware and low end commercial vsti, I have adopted the expression, "Hello, I am a proud sf and shall not be disguised or forced to hide."
