Thumb fingering element is erroneously coded as an articulation element
Adding the thumb fingering to a note, the element inspector indicates it is an articulation (see screenshot). Attempt to place below staff does not order it as a fingering placement on a chord. I can manually move it to where I want it, but other parameters like size are not available as is appropriate for fingering elements.

As far as I know this is intentional, guitar players have reported this i not actually a normal fingering. But I'm not expert on guitar notation. If you prefer a regular fingering containing that symbol, you can easily create one yourself. Just edit the text of an existing fingering, use F2 to open the special characters palette, and find that symbol somehwere in the Musical Symbols section (sorry, not sure where). Then you can add that back to the palette with Ctrl+Shift+drag

Thank you Marc. It is a normal finger on cello. I will try your instructions. I'm not a power user so I was not aware of that trick.
