Please walk me through how I can use the software to trans-cribe/pose or the correct terminology for gettign piano sheetmusic from mp3 solo or midi

MIDI, open with MuseScore.
You can import MIDI files into MuseScore. Not MP3 though
for mp3, the short answer is, you listen to the music and write it down in MuseScore (or, first on paper using a pencil). It is often convenient to have a real piano available so you can play along with the the mp3 and check that what you wrote down is correct.
MuseScore cannot automatically listen to an mp3 and generate a score, even when there is only one instrument/voice on the mp3.
