as you is the pic how would I write that in musescore ithas 4 beats of notes but the time signature is 4/4.

It apparently is a pickup measure, so right-click into the measure, measure properties and change the actual duration to 3/4. Optionally tick the box to exclude it from measure count

thank you very much but I have resolved the issu by adding 1/8 to the pickucp measure

For a single 1/8th note pick up change the duration to 1/8.
