Update Error!

To anyone who can help:
When I press the update button, I get the message:
Update Error! An error occurred in retrieving update information; are you connected to the internet? Please try again.

My internet is working fine. I restarted the program many times and this software still gives the same message.
I also removed the software and reloaded it but still get the same message. I saw on the forum that someone else is experiencing the same problem with no solution.
It would be great if a tech or experienced user could help me fix this problem.
