You say the splash screen is still visible. Does it not disappear when the main MuseScore window opens? Or do you mean it re-appears when you open a score.

This could be a MAC thing as I do not see the behaviour you describe under Windows 10.

There is some random behaviour that I couldn't figure out yet: once the splash screen stays on top, other times it stays behind the application window (see screenshot). The process seems to "catch itself" as long as the computer is turned on (meaning: it gets less and less, when opening other files via double-click). But the next day, when the computer is restarted, the procedure starts anew...
I update as soon as I find a "stable pattern of misbehaviour".

That is not the last message that should show
Next would be "Creating main window…", so it seems to get stuck at WorkspacesManager::initCurrentWorkspace();

It happened again. I have a feeling this has to do with my plugin development... not everything is active immediately as far as i know, when there are changes made in the plugin editor. Therefore I start Musescore anew. I hope I find out which changes in the plugin could cause that...

Further oberservation: The splashscreen sticks almost always, when I restart Musescore (in order to load new or changed files that are imported to a plugin) and, during startup, change to VSCode and do sth over there.
Today, at some point, it stopped at "Reading translations"
I should mention that the software still works, though. Just the splash screen does not disappear (but can be pushed into the background by quickly opening/changing to another program and return back to Musescore.
