adding rests
Can't figure out how to add an eighth rest to my measure. It is a 4/4 measure; I've added a half note and there is another half rest already there.

While in note entry, select the a rest, then duration of an 8th note then enter the rest. If you're using the mouse, the rest is the icon with a couple of rests on it, the 8th note duration is the same icon as the note, the blue cursor will turn into a rest rather than a note. If you're using they keyboard type
n (to start note input mode)
4 (identify an 8th note duration)
0 (to enter the rest)
In either case, you will get an 8th rest and the remaining part of the 1/2 rest will turn into an 8th rest and 1/4 rest.
