automatically following note entry

Hello! When entering music to musescore I noticed two different "activities" for which I don't know how they appear or disappear. I would be grateful if someone can tell me how to switsch between those two modes on my own:

When entering music into a measure that is at the end of a line or page, musescore sometimes jumps automatically into the next measure (where the blue entry field is placed) and automatically adjust the section of the score.
And sometimes musescore don't do this at all! When I type in the final note of the measure at the end of the page, it stays there and I have to go manually to the beginning of the next page.

Sometimes this is better, sometimes the other. Therefore I would be grateful if someone can tell me how to switch between those twwo modes.
