Circles over stems - feature I've never seen before

• Sep 30, 2020 - 06:46

I was editing a score this morning, and then I noticed some circles had appeared round the stems of a timpani part. I've never seen anything like that before.

I'm not sure if that means anything to percussionists, but I can copy the notes to other parts, so probably not a symbol specific to timpani.

I've never seen anything like this before. Does anyone know what these mean and how did I create those?

Thanks to both of you. Looks like the timpani thing was a red herring. Probably crept in if I was trying to undo something (cmd-Z or ctrl-Z) and the Z shortcut got picked up. Looks as though the accordion is a more relevant instrument - though might not be the only one.

I also liked the tip about the multiple delete (Select similar ...) feature - I didn't know about that before.

However, one further peculiarity emeres - I can't get the Symbol Palette up on the additional palette list, though I can see it on the Master Palette. Perhaps some of these issues are due to macOS..
