Inserting "natural" text
Think of "Peter and the Wolf". How would you insert the text without specifying notes?
If I try to insert Lyrics the words need to be attached to notes but in Peter and the wolf the words are spoken, freeform, not sung. I want to do something similar to a piece I am composing.

Shoichi pointed you to one possibility, I suggest that you enter notes indicating where words are to be spoken. You can then select all of the notes and set them to note visible and uncheck play. They will then line up with the music.
