OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.5.2.311459983, revision: 465e7b6

Open the attached score.

  1. Use the mouse and Shift button to drag the first fingering (say) until it is on the text-line above the staff.
    Result: Y-offset = –6.5; Minimum distance = –2.
  2. Now reset, and use the arrow buttons to do the same thing.
    Result: Y-offset = –4; Minimum distance = 0.5.
  3. Reset and use the Y offset (Inspector) to do the same thing.
    Result: Y-offset = –4; Minimum distance = 0.5.
  4. Press the "Reset to style default button", then repeat step 3.
    Result: Y-offset = –6.5; Minimum distance = 0.5.

The differences in the settings are confusing for the user. The increase in "Minimum distance" (step 1) looks like a bug.

Also, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to make Fingering align at the same distance above/below the staff. This is possible with other text objects and would be a useful option for fingering as well.
