Silent Chord Symbol?
I'm using chord symbols in a piece to allow a guitarist freedom to do what they want. However, when I get to a rest the chord keeps holding and playing out. It never stops. It gets mostly silent but it's still there. What do I do? Thanks.

Hard to say for sure without seeing the score, but if I'm understanding your description correctly, that sounds right. A real guitarist seeing a chord symbol would keep playing that chord even if there happen to be rests int he melody; they stop only when they see another chord symbol or the notation "N.C."
