Navigation "Go To: ______" not working. If I press play, the automatic navigation doesn't work

Musescore 3.5.2.3114...
If I search anything in the search box, it won't take me anywhere. I tried navigating the score with the playback option, which would normally take me to the note that is selected, but it doesn't take me there. Also, if I select a number of bars with the arrow, as in "shift + arrow", it doesn't take me where the new selected bars on the next page are. It's like the navigation is broken. Then, I can only navigate the score by dragging with the mouse up and down the pages, which takes much time and occasionally drags a note or an element out of place, it's a mess.
I restarted musescore but still no luck. Any ideas on this?

It sounds like your pan button on the toolbar isn't pressed. It looks like an arrow pointing at an end barline.

Many of those buttons I never use, neither I know what they are for. Now I know.
