Downloaded Musescore 3.6 and it will not open (crashes after a few seconds)

I downloaded Musescore 3.6 and the Icon is on my computer but the program will not open

1) I have tried for 2 days now by clicking on the "MuseScore 3" icon on my computer and still it closes after a few seconds every time I try to open it

2) in the process of the download it erased all record of my previous Musescore 3.0 (?) in which there are many scores in the process of being completed. I can not access these scores, or create new scores from this Musescore where my completed scores have been uploaded (which is where I am sending this message from)
