Playback grayed out

I was having some problems with the playback making popping noises so I switched to ASIO and restarted MuseScore. When I opened it, the playback was grayed out and nothing is showing up in PortAudio. I tried restarting my computer and the problem was still there. I reset preferences to default and the problem returned. Finally, I tried deleting MuseScore completely and re-installing and the problem still happened. I was able to get some sound by using JACK, but the audio is glitchy. Also, now when I try reset audio and midi, MuseScore crashes.
