[No problem; user error]No way to insert a text frame between extant ones
OS: macOS 10.16, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.6.2.548020600, revision: 3224f34
I use text frames to write "books". The only way to create a text frame not at the end is to choose a measure and insert a text frame before it. One can do that repeatedly; I make one per paragraph so they can be "flowed".
That's all fine until you discover that you forgot some paragraph. There is no way to insert a new text frame between extant frames, other than insert a new one at the end, and very carefully copy and shift down all texts (especially painful because that destroys all typography/fonts).
This needs be fixed.

Apologies if I have misunderstood here. Do you mean a series of Vertical Frames each containing a paragraph of text? I clicked on the edge of Frame 2 (until it highlights and a sizing handle appears at the bottom) and then chose Add >Frames >Insert Vertical Frame.

Text frames, not exactly the same. I thought I didn't send this message, because I soon found that I wasn't clicking edgily enough. It does, indeed work. Apologies are mine.

By "edgily enough", I guess you meant that quite literally - you weren't close enough to the edge of the frame when clicking it, so you were actually selecting the text within the frame instead. One nice trick in cases where the text extend all the way to the edge of the frame (or beyond!) is to Ctrl+click the same spot if the first attempt fails - this selects the next element lower down in the stack. Useful for all sorts of cases where you have overlapping elements, but I use it a lot in this exact situation.

Exactly. That's a great idea. What I often do is move the text leftward, do what i have to, and reset its position. But what you have just suggested is better.
