Note(s) played are not what I entered
MuseScore 3.6.2.548021803
I have three notes at the beginning of a measure (13) - all "C5" natural.
But what is played (and the Inspector shows) is: Eflat4 - Aflat4 - C5
(next note in measure is Bflat4 and plays correctly).
EflatM (Cm). 6/8
What am I missing or doing wrong?

I don't see any C's in that measure - I see what appear to be A naturals, but indeed, there aren't. Not sure how you entered them, but those are really E, F, and A, and then apparently they got dragged out of position. If you mean for them to be E & F, click them and press Ctrl+R to reset the manual adjustment you made. If you meant to enter A naturals, just re-enter those notes correctly - N 4 A Up A A. If you mean them to be C's, same but this time type C and no Up since C is already in the key and doesn't need an accidental. Or enter with the mouse of however you prefer. But don't enter as one note then drag to another place.
Thanks for the quick feedback. I apologize as I appended the wrong file; I was testing other notes but getting the same result.
But your key information for me is that YES I was dragging the notes around.
So I just went back, deleted the three wrong notes and reentered via my midi controller keyboard.
Voila’ that worked; lesson learned. I’m new (as can be plainly seen) and just presumed I could drag around notes willi-nilli.
Now I can hardly wait to work on the refrain! 😊

You can drag notes, but it won't necessarily do what you want. Dragging directly in a vertical direction is an occasionallyconvenient but not very precise way of changing pitches for a selection (the arrows keys are the much more precise way). Dragging horizontally is a way of creating non=standard spacing. Dragging after double clicking is a way to manual adjustments to the positions of notes, for special non-standard effects etc. So that's probably what you did - double click then drag, rather than drag directly. Still, better to use the arrow keys, it's far more precise (3 clicks transposes three half steps guaranteed, not depending on exactly how many millimeters you move the mouse or whether your hand shakes a little in the process, etc).
I certainly appreciate your patience with a rank beginner (but elder in years :-)
I saw a reference to the MuseScore book you wrote and I'm picking that up. Thanks to that, I'm diving into study time!

If you've already done that, thanks! But if not, I actually recommend against it, it's fairly obsolete by now as it has been updated in years. Instead, I recommend my online course at https://school.masteringmusescore.com, which I keep updated, and also it's cheaper :-)
